Kęstutis Kasparavičius is a widely recognized author and illustrator of over 50 children’s books published all around the world. Ever since 1984, Kestutis’ books were translated into 22 different languages such as Chinese, Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Korean, and many more.

Kestutis is famous for his short feel-good stories about various comic characters. Bears, pigs, rabbits, and turtles find themselves trapped in puzzling and though-provoking situations. Kestutis’ watercolor illustrations are extremely detailed that draws-in children’s attention. Flying rabbits and talking strawberries unleash children’s creativity and confidence development. The artwork is colorful and bright. Even the smallest children who don't know yet how to read usually find the books engaging and entertaining. During his career, Kestutis has won multiple international awards such as The Baltic Sea Region Jānis Baltvilks International Prize in Children's Literature and Book Art, Riga, (2010), The Gold Sign of Lithuanian Artists Assotiation (2010), Lithuanian Children`s Literary Award (2008), The Best Lithuanian Children’s Book (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009), Diploma of Tallin Illustrations Triennial (2006), Bologna Illustrators Exhibition Award for Excellence (2003), The II Diploma Premi International Catalonia d`Illustracio, Barcelona (1994), The Illustrator of the Year by Bologna Children`s Book Fair (1993), The Golden Pen of Belgrade (1990).

Kęstutis was nominated for The Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2008 and 2010, also for The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2005 and 2006.

Kestutis Kasparavicius was born in 1954 at Aukstadvaris, Lithuania. His parents who were teachers sent him to the capital city Vilnius to study choir conducting at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art (1962–1972). Kestutis transitioned from music to visual arts and worked on his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in graphic design at the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts (1972–1981). He started as a graphic designer at a publishing house where his talent for illustrating was noticed. In 1984, Kestutis was published his first book, and the rest is history.

Kestutis has four children and a grandson. He lives in Vilnius, Lithuania.
